How to cancel British Airways
What its contract says about leaving.
We read the British Airways terms on 28 April 2026. The company may have changed them since, and your contract may be different.
What the contract says about leaving
- Hand-baggage-only Basic fares with surprise costs at the airportOn short-haul routes BA's cheapest fare often excludes a hold bag and seat selection. Adding a hold bag at the airport is materially more expensive than at booking, and gate checks of oversized cabin bags are increasingly strict.
This page does not explain how British Airways handles cancelling (by phone, on its website or with a form). For that, see the company's own page.
