In short

This is a recurring subscription agreement with Hulu, LLC (a Disney subsidiary). Hulu offers on-demand streaming with optional live TV. The base plan includes ads; the premium tier removes most ads. Your subscription auto-renews monthly or annually. Hulu can modify the service, content library, and pricing at their discretion. California's automatic renewal law (Bus. & Prof. Code §17600) requires Hulu to provide clear terms, cancellation disclosures, and affirmative consent before billing. Hulu also collects viewing data for personalized advertising on ad-supported plans.

What you agree to do

• You must pay the subscription fee on each billing date.
• You must not circumvent digital rights management (DRM) protections on content.
• You must not use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the service.
• You must not share your account with users outside your household.

What you can ask for

• You can cancel your subscription at any time and keep access through the end of the billing period.
• You can upgrade, downgrade, or add live TV to your plan at any time.
• You can request a refund within the terms of California's auto-renewal law if cancellation disclosures were inadequate.
• California residents can opt out of the sale of personal information under the CCPA.

Points worth knowing

• Ads even on paid tiersThe ad-supported plan includes frequent commercial breaks. Even the 'No Ads' plan may include pre-roll or post-roll ads on certain titles due to separate licensing agreements.
• Price increases without negotiationHulu can raise subscription prices with advance notice. Your continued use after the new price date constitutes acceptance. Hulu has historically raised prices annually.
• Binding arbitration agreementDisputes must go to individual binding arbitration. You waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in class actions. An opt-out window may be available within 30 days of account creation.
• Viewing data collection for targeted advertisingOn ad-supported plans, Hulu collects and shares your viewing habits with third-party advertisers. While you can limit ad personalization, you cannot fully opt out of data collection while using the service.
• Live TV add-on creates separate obligationsAdding Hulu + Live TV changes your agreement significantly, including a higher price and different regional content restrictions. Dropping the add-on may lose recorded DVR content.
